Oh look, a Kancolle post.
I actually planned to release this way sooner than today, but stuff happened and so here I am.
This song is really funky and I like the matsuri-feel it carries along.
It’s also an arrange of one of the greatest kancolle’s themes, so of course I would like it.
Lastly, it’s a C-CLAYS‘ production, and that can’t mean anything but good news.
Come to think about it, that’s not the first song I’ve translated from this album, isn’t it…?

hougeki no matsuribayashi da enryo muyou da

This is the traditional orchestral festival of bombings, it’s useless to resist it!

donpachi tekichuu de kumo-kemuri saa ikan

Gunfires are generating a cloud of smoke, it’s time to go!

teki ga matsu no naraba “zen-shuhou seisha! ute!”

My order is to go before the great summer sky
If the enemies are waiting for us: “Open fire with every weapon!”

imei o motsu yuen yuzuru koto wa dekinu
teki ga soko ni ireba kore ga hokori

Giving up on the name I’m carrying i something I can’t do
Because if the enemies are over there, that’ll be my pride

kechirashite yarou ka osoreru mono nado nai
teki wa oni ka hime ka “senshuhou seisha! ute!”

There’s no thing we could fear, so let’s just break through them
No matter if the enemy is a demon or a princess, “Open fire with every weapon!”

I’ll make my name known by anyone, that’s my pride!

rengeki no mikoshi o katsuge yami o kogase

I’ll carry this palanquin of countless wounds and make the darkness burn up!

dindondon zawameite mizu shibuki saa ikan

The splashes of water are stirring loudly, it’s time to go!

aoi tsukikage se ni wasurerarenu tatakai
idomi tsudzukeru no sa “zen-shuhou seisha! ute!”

The azure moonlight carries each unforgettable fight,
We have to keep our battle on! “Open fire with every weapon!”

kikan ni meijirare mamoru tada sore dake
anata no tame ni dake kore ga hokori

The only thing the flagship is ordering me is to protect you;
This pride of mine is just for your sake

kechirashite yarou ka osoreru mono nado nai
teki wa oni ka hime ka “zen-shuhou seisha! ute!”

There’s no thing I could fear, so I’ll just break through them
No matter if the enemy is a demon or a princess, “Open fire with every weapon!”

densetsu o matou sa kore ga hokori

I’ll wrap myself in a legend, that’s my pride

yoake o matazu shite shizuka no okufukaku
mou ii ka? anata no koto dake o idaite

On the calm depths, without waiting for dawn to come…
Is it okay by now? I just want to hold you…

inochi tsukiyou to mo yaraneba naranu shimei
teki ga matsu kagiri wa “zen-shuhou seisha! ute!”

Even if my life will run out, there’s an order I have to follow
If the enemies are waiting for me: “Open fire with every weapon!”

kikan ni meijirare mamoru tada sore dake
anata no tame ni dake kore ga hokori

The only thing the flagship is ordering me is to protect you;
This pride of mine is just for your sake

kechirashite yarou ka osoreru mono nado nai
teki wa oni ka hime ka “zen-shuhou seisha! ute!”

There’s no thing I could fear, so I’ll just break through them
No matter if the enemy is a demon or a princess, “Open fire with every weapon!”

saikyou o utau no sa kore ga hokori

That’s the strongest hymn I’ll chant, that’s my pride!

Notes:

– First stanza sounds reeeally weird. hougeki = bombing, matsuri = traditional japanese festival, hayashi = traditional japanese orchestra. So the translation may look really weird, but it’s actually true.
– Expect lots of kancolle/ships-related terms on this song.
– For example, “princess” or “demon” refer to two classes of enemies in the game, “hime” and “oni”. I think that’s the only part that needs an explaination.
– As you may notice, in order to make this song more clear on certain points, I’ve added some words that are omitted in the japanese sentences. Last stanza is the best example.
