Kill La Kill – Episode 9 – Part 1/2

Damn, It doesn’t matter how many times I’m going to write this, I’m always going to remind every reader of every post the same thing: Just watch Kill la Kill, it gets better and better as each episode is released. Though this episode’s overall storyline was kinda obvious and expected, I liked it a lot. We get to see lots of amazing battle scenes, as well as some more flashbacks about the main characters and, obviously, some comedy moments (which is the thing that makes the anime greater than others that seems to be like it).
This episode also raised my love for Gamagoori. I mean, he’s a total badass and I liked his thoughts and actions a lot. Even in the final scene, I loved his reaction. I hope we’ll get to see more of him, even th
On a side note, I’m sorry for everyone waiting for it, the new Gaki no Tsukai clip is currently being translated, but I’m working very slowly… You know, study, university, human relationships… some duties and burdens that I need to get over with. It will be subbed eventually, so fear not! Just keep waiting a little more… Forgive me!
And now, kill la kill #9 (part 1) moments!

KILL LA KILL #9-1 MOMENTS

The episode begins as the previous one ended: Gamagoori and Ryuuko on the stage. We also get to know that Ryuuko is going to fight one after another, and that the order is decided by the number of students that they have defeated during the last few days. Gamagoori is the first, having defeated the fewest number (because he only attacked for self-defense). Next are: Glasses guy, Pink chick and finally our blind Sanegayama.

Kill01

…But the fight against Gamagoori is not going to start until it will be 13:00, the time set for the match. How could she accept this decision? That’s only 8 A.M.!

Kill02

…Neverming, f*ck it. Looks like Ryuuko has some free time to spend. (can’t argue against prefect Gamagoori when it comes to rules)

Kill03

The battle of Ryuuko against the elite four (lol, kinda reminds me of pokémon-) is going to be broadcasted to everyone in the city. That’s why, meanwhile, in Makanshoku’s house begins the journey to find a working television.

Kill04

While Ryuuko is having lunch with her friend Mako, she’s interrupted by her teacher, who immobilizes Mako and forces Ryuuko to retreat, by telling her that fighting against the elite four one after another is the worst decision she could possibly make.

Kill05

“GTFO I’m having lunch with my best friend. Let her go and get the f*ck away” – Gently replied Ryuuko. She’s a hothead, isn’t she? That’s what I like about her.

Kill06

13 o’clock. Time to start the battle between Ryuuko and Honnouji’s Academy’s Unbreakable Shield: Gamagoori Ira.

Kill07

Welp, that’s it. I’m out of this review.
…Okay, leaving the jokes aside, what the hell is this armor? It surely was something.
Yup, something.
Something regrettable.

Kill08

[Intense Stare]

Kill09

[Most badass stare ever]
…In other words, no one is doing anything. That’s because Gamagoori’s armor is released once he gets hit by someone, and Ryuuko, knowing this, is not going to hit him.

Kill10

Ok, that was clever of you, Mr. Masochist Gamagoori.

Kill11

By doing so, Gamagoori gains enough fire power to store energy…

Kill12

…And release the true form of his Goku’s Uniform: Scourge Regalia.
Is Ryuuko going to be in deep sh*t?

Kill13

Part 2 coming out tomorrow!

Kill la Kill – Episode 8

Once again, a delayed post on sunday, which means that this won’t be cut in two halves.
This week’s episode was filled with flashback and action, I liked it a lot.
I’m no more bound on the opinion that Kill la Kill is like Panty & Stocking, because it is more serious and way more epic, but I like them both anyway.
Of course, Kill la Kill’s stupid moments are far greater than most animes, and that helps me appreciate it.
As I’ve probably said before, what I don’t like about Kill la Kill is the excessive fanservice.
Ryuuko is so badass and masculine that fanservice on her is kinda wrong and hard to accept, in my opinion.
Well, not that I can complain about it, it’s from the same creators of Gurren Lagan.
Lastly, seems like after this episode we’ll get to see the action we waited for, aka Ryuuko vs Elite Four. Can’t wait until next episode-
Let’s cut the chit-chat and see the review and best moments of episode 8!
(For everyone wondering about it, probably next Gaki no Tsukai video will be out before next Kill la Kill post. I hope so!)

KILL LA KILL #8 MOMENTS

I’ve kinda forgot to mention that last episode (episode 7) ended with Satsuki’s decision to set the rules of Honnouji’s accademy anew, and so it begins: the struggle for the power where every student attempt to destroy each other in order to gain a higher uniform, a higher status, a better life.

Kill01

Obviously, Satsuki is protected by a virtual shield. I’m sorry Ryuuko, but she seems to be the last boss, you can’t just fight against her in the eight episode out of 25!

Kill02

And so, while every student is fighting with all their might in order to raise…

Kill03

…The Makanshoku family enjoys their days of slumber. Being a 0 star family, they have nothing to gain and nothing to lose, and so Mako doesn’t need to fight at school.
(So, they eventually learned the lesson from the previous episode, uh…)

Kill04

Meanwhile, Ryuuko takes a ride on the scooter lent by Mato’s father (since when he had a scooter?)
—Anyway, Mako hops in for no reason. Can’t complain, and Ryuuko seems to be fine with having Mako with her. Senketsu, however, is being strangled by Mako’s arms as she holds Ryuuko’s waist.

Kill05

Ryuuko’s destination was the Matoi’s residence, in other words her former house. She’s here to find out something new about her father’s death, but…

Kill06

…SUDDENLY FLASHBACK! We get to see Ryuuko’s age progression, threatened by other people, distant from her father and without a mother, she grew up becoming a total badass bully. I love how she looks in this pic.

Kill07

Funny thing is that the exact same day her father contacted her saying that he wanted to talk with her daughter, Ryuuko finds his father stabbed with the scissor blade inside his devasted house. Oh, by the way, you look nice, gramps.

Kill08

Why this happened? Who’s the culprit?
But most important thing…
Why is her father talking about philosophical sh*t instead of telling her who’s the culprit? Oh God.
Anyway, Ryuuko gets a glimpse of the culprit, and decides to follow him/her/it/wat.

Kill09

We get a glimpse of the culprit’s shadow too. Silky black hair that waves in the wind. We could obviously assume that she was Satsuki, but it’s really her? I think they’re just trying to confuse us. It would be way too expected by everyone.

Kill10

Without knowing what he wanted to say to Ryuuko, nor who killed him and the reason behind this, the Matoi’s mansion is set to fire. R.I.P., Gramps. [/flashback]

Kill11

After having activated Senketsu, Ryuuko destroys the floor in order to find some more informations beneath the mansion, but nothing was found. I love Ryuuko’s eyes in this frame.

Kill12

The scooter stops midway on their way back. As expected from good ol’ Makanshoku’s family! But…

Kill13

…Gamagoori appears! In a fashionable pink car, too! He offers Ryuuko and Mako a ride, promising he won’t attack them.
…Obviously, because he’s going to fight against her in the school’s field the last day of the hellish natural selection.

Kill14

As soon as they hop in, Gamagoori, being a three-star-uniform user, becomes targeted by lesser school clubs, the soft gun clubs and the car club (which now are allied).
…And, those guys are ugly as f*ck.

Kill15

You ruined Gamagoori’s fashinable car. You’re gonna f*cking pay for this.
…BUT BEFORE THAT…

Kill16

SUDDENLY FLASHBACK! (part 2)
We get to see how Gamagoori met Satsuki.
While he tried to save a bullied kid, he failed to preserve the order and rules of the school in which he was a committee member.

Kill17

But Satsuki came, save the bullied kid, kicked the bullies’ asses and made Gamagoori a sex slave (??)
[/flashback]

Kill18

And that’s Gamagoori’s masochist’s uniform! Basically, he gains more fire power the more hits he gets. A complete Masochist.

Kill19

And after beating the living cr*p out of everyone, everything goes back to normal. Gamagoori rides Ryuuko to a gas station and promises her that they’ll fight soon.

Kill20

The day has finally come, and as Satsuki watches everyone from atop the school building, everyone gets ready to brawl.

Kill21

After the battle begins, 5 pillars emerge from the eart: whoever gets on the top of them will be prized by entering Satsuki’s Elite. Epic frame. Epic musics starts: Ryuuko is aiming to get on the top of one of those things.

Kill22

Secret Brawling Skill: GTFO-Style scissor swinging.

Kill23

Unreasonable Rush Art: Fuck Gravity.

Kill24

…And lastly, by using her amazing physics-defying skills, Ryuuko gets on the top of one pillar. Of course, the other four pillars are occupied by…

Kill25

…The elite four. So, now that everything is settled, a stage appears in the middle of the pillars, and Ryuuko lands on it.

Kill26

And Gamagoori joins her, opening a challenge against her.

Kill27

With this epic frame, the episode ends. Next week we’ll surely see how they are goin- OH WAIT, DAT ASS!

Kill28

See you next episode!

Kill La Kill – Episode 7 – Part 2/2

Aaand, here’s part two.
Talking about other stuff, I’m gonna sub a new gaki no tsukai clip very soon (which is somewhat short, but at least is longer than 5 minutes!).
Also, I have started watching several animes which I have no time to continue, like Evangelion, Sayounara Zetsubou Sensei 2, Kaiji 2 and Yamato Nadeshiko no Shichi-Henge… If only I had the time to watch them…
I’m only watching Kill la Kill, Samurai Flamenco, Uchuu Kyoudai and Noukome as they are released, I have no time for non-ongoing animes. I should find some spare time, uh…

KILL LA KILL #7-2 MOMENTS

Ok, let’s check the situation one more time: the Makanshoku family has become rich. Mako’s father just became a pimp, her mother an high class b*tch and her brother a young pimp, like her father…

Kill19

…And Guts got all the b*tches. Literally.

Kill20

Mako is becoming very diligent, and she’s raising the family’s richness…

Kill21jpg

…Thanks to Ryuuko’s efforts, who’s fighting every single club in Honnouji’s Accademy.

Kill22

…Which only results in loneliness. Probably being rich is not the thing that makes one really happy. Can you hear this echo? It sounds like this: “CLICHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'”

Kill23

And so, Ryuuko decides to leave the club. Because richness is not everything, and Mako and her family must know this too!

Kill24

And Lady Satsuki appears, giving a 2 star Goku’s Uniform to Mako, in order to have her fight agains Ryuuko. Nice one, Satsuki-sama.

Kill25

The confrontation is unavoidable: Ryuuko wants Mako to give up on her club which is ruining her and her family, and Mako wants to keep all the profit she gained, in order to have a normal life instead of living inside of a dirty old and small house. Let’s Fight..!

Kill26

(On a side note, it’s funny how Mako’s family is there cheering for her and not caring a single bit about Ryuuko’s words of wisdom)

Kill27

No matter how many punches Ryuuko is getting from her friend, she’s not going to hit her. How could she resist if the kamui is not even activated yet?

Kill28

But soon Mako realizes it. She notices that Ryuuko is not trying to stop her, because she has all the reason in the world to keep her money and wealth.

Kill29

…BUT SHE GIVES UP TO THE POWER OF HAPPINESS INSTEAD OF THE POWER OF MONEY!! WE NEVER EXPECTED THIS! [/ironic]
Also, dem tears. She could fill up the whole Pacific Ocean.

Kill30

Mako’s family follows Mako. They strip off the high-class clothes they’re wearing and trusts Ryuuko’s words…

Kill31

And they’re back on the good ol’ Makanshoku’s slum! A nice (AND TOTALLY UNEXPECTED OMG1!!11!!) final!

Kill32

…And then, the most useless cliffhanger ever, with Satsuki-sama smirking and shouting nonsense. Duh.

Kill33

See you next episode!!

Kill la Kill – Episode 7 – Part 1/2

Once again, the new post is coming out way too late. I apologize, that’s not my fault: sh*t happens.
Anyway, we’re back with another great episode of Kill la Kill.
This episode gets back on the track of “Kill la kill is a demential anime” way of thinking.
I seriously don’t know how to approach this anime anymore: it starts as a demential anime, then it suddenly gets shounen, then retarded again, then shounen again, then it gets stupid one more time… That’s so confusing.
Episode 7 is somewhat similar to those american cartoons with the typical moral ending.
I found the whole episode kinda hilarious, and the message (if we can call it this way) hidden inside of it, was, imho, kinda pointless and cliché.
“One is happy not when he has money, but when he has happines itself!11<1! something money can't buy!11"
I'm sorry, moral, but after Kaiji I don't believe anymore in this thing not even a little.
Anyway, I originally intended not to cut in half this post, but there are so many things in this episode that if I don't cut it, it will become one of the longest thing ever since the bible.
Ok, everything is set: Let's begin with the first half's moments!

Kill La Kill #7-1 moments

The episode starts with a nice scene: everyone happily together, enjoying their dinner (which could poison them all). How lovely!

Kill01

Having dinner together with Mako’s family, for Ryuuko is like having a family herself. Being an orphan, she never had one except for her father (which later passed out), and so she’s so happy with her current situation. Even having a bath would be nice for her…

Kill02

…If the men of Makanshoku’s family stop peeping.

Kill03

And another day at Honnouji’s Academy begins! And as soon as it starts, new clubs are after Ryuuko. This guy is from the knife throwing club. Pretty specific, uh?

Kill04

Looks like he didn’t last long enough to have a minimal battle scene, though. Oh well…

Kill05

And here’s the next challenger! The leader of the… uh… bondage… club? I have no idea, but probably his ability are strong enough to have Ryuuko struggle a lit-

Kill06

…Never mind. But I’m positive next one will be a fierce enemy!

Kill07

And there she is! Leader of the Tightrope Walking club! I’m sure she w-

Kill08

Seriously?! Isn’t the episode progressing a little bit too fast?!

Kill09

Anyway, looks like having a strong club raises your rank in Honnouji Academy. Having your rank raised, means a better place to live, more money and overall an easier life (and that’s why there were those specific clubs which splitted from the original circus club). Having heard this, Ryuuko decided to make her own “Fight Club”, in order to have Mako’s family’s living conditions improved.

Kill10

…But being a club leader is a burden. That’s exactly what Mako is here for!

Kill11

And so the club slaughter continues…

Kill12

..And the fight club manages to gain more and more power…

Kill13

…which finally allows the Makanshoku family to live in a normal house!

Kill14

Just look how happy they look eating a 100% pure meat croquette instead of the typical mystery croquette!

Kill15

HOLY F*CK, JUST LOOK AT HIM FOR F*CK’S SAKE. JUST F*CKING LOOK AT F*CKING GUTS, F*CK IT.

Kill16

But having a normal house doesn’t mean that the fight club activity are over. In fact, they continue fighting against the other clubs…

Kill17

…Until they become very, very, very rich.
But is richness the same thing as happiness?

Kill18

Part 2 coming out tomorrow!

Kill la Kill – Episode 6

-This episode’s post won’t be cut in two half because of its release delay!-
First of all: Good news.
Apparently, Kill la Kill is going to be a 25 episodes long anime, in other words it will end in spring 2014. That’s absolutely great.
I also intend to keep this anime-moments thing just for an anime per season, so probably from now until spring, there will be only kill la kill in here (even though I’m rather intrigued by an upcoming winter 2014 anime…)
Anyway, let’s talk about this episode a little.
It got the vibe of the first episodes, but there are several differences.
The plot is getting more and more outlined as the the episode’s count progresses, and the randomness is slowly decreasing, leaving less gags in each episodes and more action / shonen stuff.
I think there won’t be any new episode as random and panty-and-stocking-styled as episode 3.
Well, I’m fine with it anyway: both the random and the shonen parts are great, imho.
That’s enough of an intro to me, let’s check the first half’s moments.

KILL LA KILL #6 MOMENTS

Ryuuko wakes up inside the house of her sexual harasser teacher, and she realize that he’s allied with the punk badass from the previous episodes. She asks for reasons: weren’t they against Lady Satsuki? Why are they targeting Ryuuko now?

Kill01

The reason is NUUUUUUDIIIIIST BEAAAAAAAAAACH. Ryuuko thinks that’s bullshit. Can’t complain. Opening follows next.

Kill02

Experiments on life fibers go on. I seriously want the coat this guy is wearing.

Kill03

Meanwhile, Sanegayama, one of the elite four of Satsuki’s party, asks Lady Satsuki to let him fight against Ryuuko. He also tried to sneak behind Satsuki but he’s noticed by her before showing up.

Kill04

Flashback time! Back then when Satsuki was an aggressive loli, young Sanegayama challenged her and her gang in a fierce duel! Sanegayama’s army agains Satsuki’s party, which was…

Kill05

…composed by: Loli Satsuki, The guy which destroyed the school in the first minute of the first episode which somewhat looks older than now, The guy with the amazing moving coat and the loli pink-haired musician with a monkey r@pin’ her leg.

Kill06

Just moving her eyes, the army of Sanegayama is defeated. Mary Sue anyone? However. Sanegayama managed at least to get close to her before being defeated, and Satsuki liked his attitude, and asks him to join her party. [/flashback]

Kill07

Meanwhile, an A Class b*tch makes a phone call to Satsuki. That’s probably her mother, but I have no idea whatsoever.

Kill08

The next day, Ryuuko founds a bulletin board on the school’s gate, in which there’s written a challenge message. She has to face off Sanegayama at the dojo.

Kill09

Not thinking about it one more time, Ryuuko goes to the dojo. It seems that Goku’s uniforms can transform too, and we get to see the transformation of Sanegayama’s uniform. TRANSFORMERS!

Kill10

He’s strong, fast and skilled enough to make Ryuuko unable to hit him. But Ryuuko finds out the source of he’s strenght.

Kill11

…His eyes. He only relies on his eyes to strike his attacks. Noticing that, Ryuuko slices off a piece of her Senketsu, which blinded Sanegayama…

Kill12

…Aaaand he’s defeated. I kinda missed this scene.

Kill13

…But! He doesn’t give up yet! Meanwhile, Mako is analyzing his shrimp. And she seems disappointed.

Kill14

Treated as a disgraceful member on the elite four party, he’s blocked by the others, and he’s not able to ask Ryuuko a second match. He dare to ask directly to Lady Satsuki, now. Looks like he did something regrettable doing so, but it also seems he had some reasons to do this.

Kill15

It seems his request was accepted by Lady Satsuki. Giving another chance to one who was beaten? Lady Satsuki and Sanegayama must have had a good reason for this…

Kill16

Without wasting further time, Ryuuko uses the same technique she used in the previous battle, blinding him. But something went wrong, and Sanegayama attacks Ryuuko anyway.

Kill17p

That Sanegayama guy shut his eyes. In order not to rely only on what he sees. WHAT.

Kill17pr

And it seems he asked the guy with the blonde ponytail from the lab to do so. Good for you, Sanegayama!

Kill17

Ryuuko is being beaten up everywhere, and she relies on her last chance: an ambush. She connects her blade with a wire, and without moving throws it towards her enemy.

Kill18

Completely uneffective. Sanegayama’s other senses became so sharp he can now see “the entire universe”. Wow, that’s so shounen-like. What happened to my wtf-moments?

Kill19

A violent strike to her head and Ryuuko is impaled to the ground. Tom & Jerry did this several years ago.

Kill20

Luckily for Ryuuko, Sanegayama’s Goku’s Uniforms overheats, and its power wore off. In the meanwhile, she safely gets the f*ck away.

Kill21

Ahh, dear Ryuuko. You now know what it’s like to be the protagonist of a shounen anime…

Kill22

Sanegayama and Satsuki meets again, this time Satsuki didn’t even notice him, which was right in front of her.

Kill23

After refusing the tea Satsuki promised him, he leaves Satsuki’s room like a boss. Damn, he’s badass too. This anime is full of badasses.

Kill24

I liked the whole episode, but I needed a little more randomness and nonsense. Oh well, not a big deal.
See you next week!

Tanaka’s Furious Thai Kick

TRANSLATOR’S NOTES

Another short clip, this time even shorter than usual. I’m sorry, the time is not by my side lately! Next video is going to be something longer, I promise!
Anyway, I randomly found this clip some weeks ago, and I don’t even know where this is from (And if you know, please tell me!).
Looks like is something like a no-laughing Batsu Game starring Tanaka, in which he can’t fall into anger: if he does, he loses.
Sadly, that’s only a clip from the whole show, which I found hilarious and worth the sub.
It seems it’s also the last part of the show, that’s why I couldn’t get a clue of what they’re talking about at the end.
Anyway, I wanted to upload at least this, because It’s been a while since my last subbed clip and I felt like something new had to me uploaded.
Once again, more clips are yet to come, and they won’t be as short as this one… So, just stay tuned and see what happens!
On a side note, I’m not sure about the transcription of the tai kicker’s name, because it’s written in katakana and I’m not sure if that’s his real name. However, it doesn’t matter. Or does it?
And remember: be sure to bring your fianceé up on a mountain, in a river, on a temple and inside a f*cking cherry tree. It’s important.
See you next video!!

Kill La Kill – Episode 5 – Part 2/2

We left when the battle between Ryuuko and the cool-punk-guy-shooting-needles-whose-name-i-can’t-remember-at-all began.
I forgot to write an important thing about the first half, or probably I didn’t talk about that so much.
Mako’s family often watches Ryuuko talking to Senketsu, but due the fact only Ryuuko can hear Senketsu’s voice, they all think her uniform is just an imaginary friend of her.
I was somewhat also moved when Mako said that there was no problem with that, because before she met Ryuuko the only friends she had were all imaginary friends.
Mako was somewhat pitiful and adorable, so this line really got me, dunno why.
Anyway, keep this on mind, because it will be important for what is going to happen next.
So, we can summarize the second half of episode 5 with a few keywords: battles, explosions, explosions, fighting scenes, epicness, explosions, Sengoku Basara, esplosions, explosions, needlestorms, Yakumo Yukari.
Well, I’ve said enough: let’s see the best moments from Kill la Kill Episode 5 (part 2)!

KILL LA KILL #5-2 MOMENTS

Just when the battle gets started, some new enemies appear on the stage, tossing their weapons towards Ryuuko and the other guy. They are…

Kill14bis

…I actually don’t know? The old-farts club? Or probably the “Toss everything you got in da face” club. Don’t know and can’t remember. Anyway, they throw stuff. Pointy stuff. Next there’s…

Kill12

…The poetry club, which throws shurikens poems, which pierce every-f*cking-thing. Just in case you think you’ve seen anything by watching Chihayafuru…
And finally…

Kill13

…The garden club, with its handsome (?) leader which I don’t actually know if he’s the same as before or a clone or his brother or what. Whatever. Long story short, a battle between 2 becomes a battle royale in less than a minute. Nice.

Kill14

…Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The pink-haired chick joins the battle too, leading her army of musicians. sh*t got serious.

Kill15

However, no club can do sh*t against our punk, which is destroying the school a little bit too much.

Kill16

…Aaaand yup, the needles’ effect took its time, but it finally strikes Ryuuko which is now unable to move. Guess Ryuuko lost, this time.

Kill17

Meanwhile, our punk tells us a story of a woman which was consumed by an uniform, and tells us that a bond between a human and an uniform is impossible. I don’t know if the girl in his flashback was Satsuki or someone else, I think we’ll find it out as the story goes on.

Kill18

MOTIVATIONAL MAKO STRIKES AGAIN! Yup, she tells the punk that Senketsu is Ryuuko’s friend, and they both trust each other. It doesn’t matter if Ryuuko is crazy and talks to her uniform, friendship can overcome a simple matter as the relationship between animated and non-animated stuff! (…I guess.)

Kill19

Then, Mako took Senketsu, hands it to Ryuuko and gets the f*ck out. Thank you again, Mako!

Kill20

Just when the punk is about to strip Ryuuko once again, he’s stopped by…

Kill21

…Senketsu’s voice. He can feel the bond of trust between Ryuuko and her Kamui, both calling each other out. He’s astonished. Can’t blame him.

Kill22

The Orchestra-whatever club joins the toilet. I seriously don’t know anymore who’s allied with who.

Kill23

One last smoke grenade and the punk gtfos with Ryuuko from the window, leaving the pink haired chick and her sex slaves fellows alone in the school building.

Kill24

Summary of this scene:
Senketsu: “we’re safe, he brought us there and I’m just a shirt to you.”
Ryuuko: “Nope, you’re my friend.”
Senketsu: “K lol let’s train hard”
Pretty cliché but it’s ok.

Kill25

One last glance to this week’s hero, which now trusts Ryuuko and Senketsu, but is ready anytime to take back his words of trust if Ryuuko will become consumed by her Kamui’s life fiber. Damn, he’s cool.

Kill26

Pretty damn cool episode, see you next week!
Also, as I wrote yesterday, a new short subbed Gaki no Tsukai clip is coming out soon, stay tuned!
