Notes:
– Second stanza: The Shinkansen is Japan’s fastest bullet train, while Kouriyama is a city in Tohoku, near Fukushima (which is around 124 miles away from Tokyo, where the song is supposedly set).
– Third stanza: most likely from the singer’s point of view, Kannana (Kannana-doori) is a road in Tokyo. Here’s a short footage.
– Fourth stanza: I decided to translate “futari no yume” (lit: the dream of the two of us / our dream(s) ) as “our shared dream” and again on the last stanza as “our dreams” so the whole translation could have more readings (yume could be both singular and plural, so the dream could be shared between two people or it could be two dreams of two different people… I guess it’s up to interpretation).
– Seventh stanza: Oda-kyuusen (Oda Railway) is a railway which connects Tokyo to Odawara (Kanagawa).
