I love Antihoney, and today I accidentally stumbled upon an old japanese song called “Makka na Taiyou” by Misora Hibari. I knew those lyrics sounded familiar. I could get the lyrics for “The Sun Sets Twice” from it: turns out it’s actually a cover of it. I didn’t know that.
Antihoney – The Sun Sets Twice
まっかに燃えた太陽だから
真夏の海は恋の季節なの
makka ni moeta taiyou dakara
manatsu no umi wa koi no kisetsu na no
The red sun was burning in deep red
And so the season of love enshrouded the midsummer sea
いつかは沈む太陽だから
涙にぬれた恋の季節なの
itsuka wa shizumu taiyou dakara
namida ni nureta koi no kisetsu na no
But the Sun too will eventually sink down
And so the season of love got wet by my tears
愛の孤独海にながして
燃えるこころ恋のときめき
忘れず残すため
ai no kodoku umi ni nagashite
moeru kokoro koi no tokimeki
wasurezu nokosu tame
Let this lovelessness flow in the sea
So you’ll feel you heart burning in a love
Of unforgettable, everlasting beats
いつかは沈む太陽だから
涙にぬれた恋の季節なの
恋の季節なの
itsuka wa shizumu taiyou dakara
namida ni nureta koi no kisetsu na no
koi no kisetsu na no
The Sun too will eventually sink down
And so the season of love got wet by my tears
That’s the season of love
