魂音泉 (TAMAONSEN) – Dear Rainy Day feat. TINY PLANETS

西高東低空遠い
冷たく降る雨
でも天気予報みてない
Sing in the rain

seikoutoutei sora tooi
tsumetaku furu ame
demo tenki yohou mitenai
Sing in the rain

On the uneven pressured far away sky
The rain coldly pours down
But I haven’t seen the weather report
Sing in the rain

吹き荒ぶ雨粒は
誰かの涙ね
そんなこと想ってもサイレント
口にするわけもない

fuki susabu amatsubu wa
dareka no namida ne
sonna koto omotte mo sairento
kuchi ni suru wake mo nai

The rough raindrops blow fiercely
“They look just like someone’s tears”
But even if you’re imaginating such thing
Be silent: There’s no need to make it into words

濡れて溢れて洗い流そう
悲しい結末はいらないから
声を殺して歌っていたんだろう
置き忘れた傘はだれ?

nurete afurete arai nagasou
kanashii ketsumatsu wa iranai kara
koe o koroshite utatteitan darou
oki wasureta kasa wa dare?

Washed away by a dripping, overflowing rain
Because we don’t need any sad conclusion
You were singing in a muffled voice, weren’t you?
Who’s the umbrella left there, forgotten?

雨のち晴ひと段落
小さな虹の日
帰るころには忘れてる
乾いたアンブレラ

ame no chi hare hito danraku
chiisana niji no hi
kaeru koro ni wa wasureteru
kawaita anburera

Just after the rain, a clear sky grants us a rest
On a day with a small rainbow
There lied a dried up Umbrella
Forgotten just when I was about to go back home

必要なものだけれど
いつでもは要らない
でもいつまでも共にある
そんな関係がいい

hitsuyouna mono da keredo
itsumo de wa iranai
demo itsumademo tomo ni aru
sonna kankei ga ii

It is something indispensable
But it’s not like I always need it
Yet it will always be here with me:
That’s the relation I like

少し長かった忘れてた間
季節を何度越えただろう
置いてけぼりにしてしまったけど
取りに戻るよ Dear rainy day…

sukoshi nagakatta wasureteta aida
kisetsu o nando koeta darou
oite kebori ni shiteshimatta kedo
tori ni modoru yo Dear rainy day…

I wonder how many seasons I went through
During this quite long timespan I had you forgotten?
I ended up leaving you behind…
But I’ll come take you back at times – Dear rainy day…

Notes:

– First stanza: 西高東低 (seikoutoutei) is a term which literally means “high barometric pressure to the west / low pressure to the east”. Translating it this way felt way too weird (even if it’s the most accurate translation one could ever make), so I tried to make it shorter without making it completely lose its original meaning.
– The third stanza is repeated two more times, before and after the last stanza.

About foregroundnoises

I'm a 23 y.o. italian guy, I have a degree in japanese language & culture and I'm currently advancing in my studies. I love music but I'm too self-destructive to attempt to produce it myself. Sometimes I gaze at my shoes and think it's a nice genre. Mainly translating japanese music lyrics (Touhou / doujin / indie / etc) and Gaki no Tsukai clips (worked with Team Gaki too). 宜しくお願いしマスタースパーク。
